May 10, 2025 — Following the success of its debut event, NC Youth Impact proudly opened its second Asian American History Exhibition at the Cary Regional Library, where the exhibition will run for an entire week. This meaningful community program was made possible with the generous support of the Town of Cary’s Art Department and the dedicated team at Cary Regional Library.

The exhibition features a collection of historical posters highlighting key moments, challenges, and achievements of Asian Americans in the United States. Throughout the week, countless visitors stopped by the display—families, students, seniors, and new residents—engaging deeply with the stories presented.

When the NC Youth Impact team arrived to take down the exhibit, library staff shared heartfelt feedback:
“A lot, a lot of people stopped to read the posters. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—people deeply appreciated this exhibition.
This response demonstrates the deep community interest in learning about Asian American history—stories often overlooked but essential to understanding the broader American experience.

A special thanks goes to co-founder Sunny Zhao and her younger sister Lucy Zhao, who both dedicated their time and effort to help set up the exhibition. For them, participating in this project was more than a task—it was a meaningful journey of identity and community connection. They expressed how powerful it felt to see Asian American history shared so openly in a public space, and how important it is for youth to know the stories that shaped their community.

The enthusiastic response from the library’s patrons highlights the growing desire to learn and acknowledge Asian American contributions across generations.

NC Youth Impact extends its deepest gratitude to the Cary Art Department, Cary Regional Library, and all volunteers who made this exhibition possible.

The Asian American History Exhibition will continue its AAPI Heritage Month series with additional community events and displays throughout May.
